Job Description

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance and calibration of field instruments including transmitters, control valves, and shutdown switches. Complete detailed work reports, including parts used and man hours spent.
  • Perform emergency repairs and ad hoc checks, including disassembling, cleaning, replacing parts, and reassembling instruments. Report critical malfunctions to the onshore support team.
  • Address repair work orders, diagnose faults, and replace or repair faulty components on PCBs. Assist in minor overhauls and ensure proper equipment operation through checks and recalibration.
  • Perform daily checks and calibration of various analyzers (e.g., H2S, O2, gas chromatographs, pH meters). Address routine problems and report serious issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow maintenance schedules for analyzers, including replacing calibration gases. Document and report maintenance activities.
  • Regularly inspect all instrumentation and control systems to monitor condition and identify potential issues.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, isolate equipment before work, follow safety instructions, and use appropriate protective gear.
  • Assist Senior Technicians with fault diagnosis and maintenance on gas turbine control systems and ESD system. Help troubleshoot gas turbine start-up issues and service control systems, fuel gas control valves, and governors.
  • Engage in the Company safety program and report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Work with mechanical craftsmen for the maintenance of heavy equipment, including dismantling and reinstating control instruments.
  • Support field instrumentation and control system improvement or expansion projects, including installation, connection, configuration, and testing
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Degree or 3-year Diploma/apprenticeship in the instrument/control trade (equivalent to UK City and Guilds/NVQ or ONC/OND).
  • Experience:
    • 4-5 years of electronic instrumentation maintenance experience in oil and gas, with significant experience in field analyzers.
    • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, preferably Oracle)
    • Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
