Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the EGA Group and Management to optimally resolve legal issues, and manage legal risks in line with EGA’s strategic objectives.
Support the General Counsel in day-to-day operations to achieve operational excellence across the legal function.
Job Scope
Responsible for providing practical, commercial, timely and strategic legal support in relation to transactions, incidents, contractual matters and day-to-day operations, in addition to assisting the business with responding appropriately to communications, and applicable legislative or regulatory changes.
Proactively assist with complex transactions and other business arrangements, identifying legal (and where appropriate commercial) issues in relation to transactions and providing pragmatic legal analysis and practical solutions to mitigate risk and achieve the best possible outcome for EGA.
Provide recommendations for addressing critical legal and policy issues to ensure that objectives are met in a manner consistent with EGA’s values, strategies, policies, and procedures.
Draft, review, and negotiate/support negotiations, in relation to contracts and other documents with a view to minimising legal exposure and risk for the EGA Group.
Develop standard terms of business and standard form precedents, and periodically update these to reflect changes in legislation, regulation, EGA strategy and/or market practice.
Develop junior legal talent and provide training to colleagues both within the legal function and the wider EGA business to ensure clear understanding and awareness of relevant rights, liabilities, and obligations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in law from an internationally reputable university.
