We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Procurement to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop a strategic procurement function within our Manufacturing and Engineering organization. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with minimal lead time. Therefore, demand planning, watching demand, watching trends, and being proactive will be key.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within the engineering industry.
- Adept at understanding the effect of NPI, and planning around inventory and where NPI will fit in.
- Proven people management ability

- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and being in a role that handles a wide scope that includes Planning, Procurement, Logistics, 3PL, International Supply Chain, and building teams
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
- Ability to analyze and forecast financial trends.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
