MECHANICAL CAD DRAFTSMAN

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As a Mechanical CAD Draftsman you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and models using ComputerAided Design (CAD) software. You will collaborate closely with engineers architects and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings for various MEP projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create detailed mechanical drawings plans and diagrams based on specifications provided by engineers and architects.
• Develop 2D and 3D CAD models of HVAC systems plumbing layouts and other mechanical systems.
• Incorporate design changes and modifications into existing drawings as per project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards building codes and client specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers engineers and other draftsmen to resolve design issues and refine drawings.
• Maintain drawing files project documentation and records of revisions.
• Assist in the preparation of material takeoffs and quantity estimates as needed.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other relevant CAD software (Revit MEP SolidWorks etc.).
• Knowledge of MEP systems HVAC design principles and plumbing systems.
• Experience in drafting for MEP projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Drafting Technology or a related field preferred.
• Certification in CAD drafting is a plus.
