Senior Power BI & Excel Visualization Report Developer

Onsite (Northbrook, IL)

Long term contract

Responsible for creating compelling and insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.

Collaborate closely with business & IT stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into effective reporting solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel to visualize complex data sets.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data visualization needs.
• Design and implement data models and data transformations to support reporting requirements.
• Utilize advanced features of Power BI and Excel to create dynamic and interactive visualizations.
• Optimize report performance and data refresh processes for efficient delivery of insights.
• Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for data visualization and report design.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data visualization tools and techniques.
• Train and mentor junior team members on Power BI and Excel reporting best practices.
• Experience working with data in Azure Data Lake for data visualization purposes is a plus.
• Self-starter, can work independently with minimum guidance to get the work done.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.
• Experience working with data in the Retail, Mfg, distribution domain is a big plus.
• Proficiency in SQL and data querying techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
• Certifications in Power BI or related technologies are preferred.
• Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau is a plus
