Job Summary:
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer is a professional in the field of power electronics hardware development with a good understanding and experience in product development (high frequency power conversion, analog power electronics and embedded motion control), design, evaluation, testing and reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsib le for the development and implementation of high frequency power conversion systems is held, including all switched mode types of power conversion products such as DC to DC, DC to AC, and AC to DC converters. This encompasses work with power semiconductors, magnetic components, passive components, and control electronics.
- Participation in the design and development of motor drives and control systems, especially those utilizing DC to AC converters for motor operation, is required. Both brushless DC Motors and brushed motors are to be worked with, incorporating control functions for closed-loop position and/or speed control using analog and/or embedded digital controllers.
- Involvement in the development of analog power products, including linear power conversion products (regulators) and solid-state amplifiers (e.g., laser diode drivers), is expected.
- Engagement in the design and implementation of embedded closed-loop systems, highlighting the emphasis on this specific requirement in power electronics development, is necessary.
- Contribution to modeling and simulation tasks for both analog and digital circuits, utilizing tools like PSPICE for discrete time simulation and analysis, as well as frequency domain simulation and analysis for stability analysis and design of control systems, is essential.
- Participation in ensuring EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) through appropriate PCB layout, grounding, bonding, shielding, etc., is crucial.
Experience & Education Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in power electronics, with a focus on the areas specified, is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is essential. A Master's degree or higher is preferable.
- Previous experience in engineering roles with a focus on power electronics, including design and development responsibilities is mandatory
Key Skills
- Proficiency in the design and development of high frequency power conversion systems and motor drives is demonstrated.
- Expertise in the development of analog power products and embedded closed-loop systems is shown.
- Skills in modeling and simulation, using tools like PSPICE for both analog and digital circuits, are required.
- Knowledge and experience in EMC control, including PCB layout and grounding techniques, are necessary.
- The ability to function effectively as a member of design teams and to contribute to concept design discussions for power electronics subsystems is critic
