Job Description
- Accomplish construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders
- Update daily site progress and monitor the performance of subordinates and work distribution
- Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements
- Manage construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances, implementing corrective actions, providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information
- Manage sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors, monitoring and controlling performance
- Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes
- Update working knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications maintaining personal networks participating in professional organizations
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Implement policies and procedures for effective and efficient functioning of the project survey team on site
- Responsible for the running of the project construction team (mobilisation, execution, deliverables and project close out)
- Responsible for the quality control and quality assurance of construction data, Field checks, and construction progress report
- Oversees the (construction) staffing of the project and advises the Construction Manager and Project Manager regarding personnel requirements or improvements
- Support, advise and facilitate the Site Project Team in Construction and operational matters
- Report all construction activities via the Weekly Report to the Construction Manager (Personnel, Equipment, Activities, and Planning)
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures complying with legal regulations
- Safety is a part of each employee’s job, active participation to the safety program is a condition of each employee’s employment in order to achieve safer working environment
- Ensure that the HSE requirements are observed in the execution of all Construction activities
- Provide guidelines to the Surveyors on the projects on QA/QC and HSE reports/recommendations
