Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure performance of electromechanical work aligns with plans and specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of daily work activities including approved or rejected work hours of operation labor and equipment used.
- Interface with the public residents and business owners to mitigate construction impacts related to electromechanical aspects.
- Coordinate daily with contractors foremen to advise on proper execution of electromechanical work.
- Arrange for sampling and testing of completed electromechanical work and suspect materials.
- Check line and grade of completed work for conformance with plans and specifications.
- Report questionable methods of operation and failures to conform to plans and specifications to the concerned Engineer.
- Process Request to Check Work forms and maintain records of their status.
- Take measurements of inspected electromechanical works and maintain records for interim and final payment.
- Document contractors activities that may lead to claims and maintain detailed records of Day Works.
- Maintain fairness and firmness in dealings with contractors considering alternatives and consequences before making decisions.
- Issue instructions to the Foreman in Charge and avoid arguments with the Contractor or representatives.
- Notify the concerned Engineer of conditions rendering it impractical to enforce specifications.
- Report and document any onsite accidents and notify the concerned Engineer immediately.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in electromechanical inspection or related roles in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical construction methods materials and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with contractors stakeholders and the public.
- Ability to make informed decisions and handle challenges effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field is desirable.
