We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. The Academic Advisor will work closely with students to help them develop and achieve their academic goals. This role involves providing academic guidance, support, and resources to students, as well as collaborating with faculty and other academic support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with students to discuss academic goals, concerns, and progress
- Provide guidance and support to students on course selection, academic planning, and degree requirements
- Collaborate with faculty and academic support staff to ensure students have access to necessary resources and support services
- Monitor and track student progress and intervene as needed to ensure academic success
- Provide information and guidance on academic policies, procedures, and regulations
- Assist students with navigating the university system, including registration, financial aid, and other administrative processes
- Participate in student retention initiatives and work to increase student engagement and success
- Stay up-to-date on trends and changes in higher education and academic advising best practices

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field, such as education, counseling, or psychology
- 2+ years of experience in academic advising or a related field
- Knowledge of academic programs, policies, and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with student information systems and other relevant software
- Understanding of student development theory and its application to academic advising
