Senior Technical Software Engineer - The Emirates Group

Job Purpose: Product Engineering It is a Software Engineering portfolio under Emirates Group where we are hiring talented software engineers to develop and support a host of software applications that powers the growth of Emirates Airlines and group with business interest spanning from Passenger services Airport/ground operations Crew & Network Operations Air Cargo Sales and operations Holiday and Leisure products and services at global scale. Software is at the core to support this diverse large and complex business operations which are built using latest and modern technology stack including TPF/ALCS ReactJS AngularJS NodeJS Java Microservices .Net Python Oracle SalesForce ERP suite etc following the best industry practices including DevSecOps and modern engineering practices.

In this role you will be responsible to:

Support in driving and implementing software engineering strategies standards and guidelines in the assigned feature team. Collaborate with the team to develop business critical technical solutions through the application of software programming robust engineering practices and built in quality. Job also includes planning/estimation application development deployment release hypercare and operation of developed solutions. The job holder provides technical leadership to the assigned team in the software development lifecycle.

• Collaborate with the team to deliver technical design development and deployment of complex solutions within relevant product.
• Carry out effective technical design reviews to ensure that the right architecture patterns are used by the team.
• Drive the adoption of Engineering practices implement development process automation lean software development builtinquality test driven development agile practices and timely root cause analysis and blameless incident postmortems.
• Partner with crossfunctional teams to determine viability of solutions. Evaluate current problems future requirements and existing solutions in medium to large projects to enable high level design and drive proof ofconcepts and implement prototypes to validate ideas.
• Investigate debug and fix complex issues involving corner cases and rare conditions. Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Contribute to sprint/work design and planning by providing subject matter expertise on business domain and relevant technologies and actively contribute to technology specific community of practices.
• Manage and mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice coaching and training opportunities. Responsible for their technical deliveries and adherence to design and coding standards and practices.
• Investigate debug and fix complex issues involving corner cases and rare conditions. Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this role you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelors degree or Honours with 5 years of relevant experience in below mentioned areas:

• Building and maintaining complex software solutions using Assembler(IBM HLASM) i n an ALCS environment
• HLASM High level Assembly for development & supporting incidents
• Job Control Language and utilities for effective file handling including data transfer & offline data handling development in mainframe
• Restructur eXtended eXecutor (REXX) for automation & optimized ways of working
• ISO C for mainframe for enhancing the TPF/DF product.
• Java for mainframe for creating / enhancing interfaces in WASOLA WASOLA platform support
• Usage of SPM for structured programme development and TPF/DF calls for database handling.
• Creation and Consumption of WASOLA services for DCS/FQT/RES domain
• Development and support of DCS (Departure Control Systems) Application using TPF/ALCS related Technologies.
• Functional Expertise in Airport Operations Domain area including Checkin Boarding and Flight handling capabilities.
• Application development and message format expertise to interface Checkin systems with Various Immigration Customs and Boarder agencies.
• Integrating various airport touch points with the core departure control systems including Checkin UI SelfService Kiosk BioMetrics and Robot checkin.
• Experience in automating various airport process to bring operational efficiency.
• Interfacing various Web based applications like Online channels to PSS systems using Web Services.
• Expertise in RealTime data feed from core DCS to the data warehouse for various reports and Management Information Systems.
• Experience in supporting critical DCS (24/7) and ensuring the incidents are resolved within the SLA.
• Very good Analytical and decisionmaking skills to ensure the major incidents are resolved in quick time and work around solutions are proposed for quick recovery.
