Job Description

Capitol Bridge, a trusted organization that has been helping the government's business operations work more efficiently for clients since 2012, is currently seeking a full-time Financial Analyst to join our team in Arlington, Virginia.

The Financial Analyst position requires an experienced professional capable of managing the daily, monthly, and quarterly financial deliverables for various high-visibility projects within the Capitol Bridge portfolio. The selected candidate will act as the primary point of contact for Project Managers and Director(s) to ensure that project financial data is accurately and effectively communicated. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will collaborate with the Capitol Bridge Finance Director to maintain financial results and analysis.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Programs, the Financial Analyst will play a vital role in Capitol Bridge's success. The position requires full-time availability, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. This is a hybrid position, with most days spent working on-site in Arlington, Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track costs daily, billing/invoicing, contract to date expenditures for sub labor, temp labor, and direct labor
  • Responsible for preparation, validation, and delivery of project financial forecasts
  • Participating in reviews with high level management to finalize and submit forecasts according to deadlines.
  • Quarterly tasks including Risk and Opportunity analysis and Earned Unbilled reconciliations.
  • Develop predictive financial models to support organizational decision-making.
  • Oversee and review monthly accruals.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis for management review
  • Provide setup support in conjunction with project leads for new implementations.
  • Work as a liaison between Project Finance and various internal departments
  • Overall validation of client invoices and supporting schedules
  • Support management to respond to ad hoc requests for supporting documentation, cost allocations/analysis, etc.
  • Prepare and oversee preparation of various reports.
  • Prepare pricing and other cost estimate, including those related to contract amendments and task orders.
  • Participate in all internal/external audits while maintaining reports and data related to or necessary for audits.
  • Ensure security and privacy of financial information.
  • Utilize skills to enhance processes and procedures to benefit the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 2+ years of experience in financial analysis and forecasting are required.
  • Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
  • Appropriate experience can substitute in lieu of education.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience in managing financial forecasts/budget in a multi-project environment.
  • Knowledge of financial and statutory accounting principles.
  • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications (including the software applications that you are currently using in your organization or plan to use in the future)
  • Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment confidently
  • Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required.
  • Independent, self-starter with the ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems. Strong emphasis on positive mindset and responsibility.
