Job Summary

Instructional Associates provide diverse services as course assistants for graduate-level marketing courses at Kellogg School of Management. They seek Instructional Associates to assist with courses in the Marketing Department by grading assignments, assisting in developing course materials, and conducting background research for case studies. In addition, other assignments may include holding office hours and giving feedback on graded assignments. The majority of work can be completed remotely. Instructional Associates do not perform teaching duties.

Responsibilities you will be expected to perform:
  • Understand the course content so you are able to answer student's questions and understand their level of understanding
  • Be consistent so your grading is fair and reliable
  • Know your department's grading procedures and policies and work with the professor to develop grading criteria
  • Become familiar with your department's and the University's policies on academic integrity
  • Meet with supervising faculty to discuss student's grades or to complete required grade related paperwork
  • Return assignments to students in accordance with the established deadlines.
  • Evaluate and grade student examinations, assignments, papers and class contributions
  • Record grades
  • Notify Instructors of errors or problems with assignments
  • Any other support for Marketing classes depending on background and Department needs
What we are looking for:
  • A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manager multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Available to work late on occasional evenings as needed for courses
