We are looking for Business unit Manager Construction and Fabrication for a leading global Energy Services client to be based in Abu Dhabi.

Overview:

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of client. As the leader of the Construction & Fabrication business unit you are ultimately responsible for all matters relating to the business unit including but not limited to strategic direction profitloss budget planning and execution complete customer satisfaction longterm sustainable growth personnel development and leadership of the Construction & Fabrication business unit team.

Principal Responsibilites:

  • Establish Business Unit objectives regarding sales profits quality and staff development monitor progress and facilitate achievement.
  • Evaluate Business Unit Performance and recommend new strategies for performance improvements.
  • Ensure that teamwork in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify resources assign workloads and manage schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Plan staffing levels and oversee employee recruitment performance evaluation and development promotion employee retention and/or termination activities for the Division to achieve targeted goals and operational efficiency.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and roles. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Maintain contacts with existing clients and promote contacts with new prospective customers to obtain work for the Division/Company and to enhance good public relations.
  • Develop implement and perpetuate employee compliance with an understanding of all company policies and standards relating to company QA/QC Safety HR IT ethos and general operations.
  • Identify skill gaps within the Business Unit and propose appropriate training as needed for personnel to be able to carry out their assigned duties and achieve established goals.
  • Identify areas of concern and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Ensure that client invoicing is promptly processed and oversee business accounting processes.
  • Regular team meetings and communication.


Principal Accountabilities:

Staff

  • Ensure that staff under supervision have a Job description that reflects the expectations of the management from the position held.
  • Ensure at the beginning of the year that employees have been assigned challenging goals and that they are aware of the management expectations along with the set deadlines.
  • Monitor on a quarterly basis the achievements vs. objectives assigned to the Department managers in order to strengthen coaching and/or eventually adjust the objectives initially set considering the current environment.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement teamwork and a commitment to do things right the first time.
  • Ensure that the staff is provided with the relevant training and materials needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently in line with their job descriptions in coordination with the HR Manager / Partner
  • Conduct employees performance appraisal reviews on at least an annual basis.
  • Ensure that the staff carries out the operations in strict respect of the policies. To this effect ensure that an annual statement of compliance must be filled in by each employee before the yearend.
  • Hold a regular meeting (at least once a quarter or as per the local regulation) jointly with the HR Manager / Partner with staff representatives in order to strengthen the social climate and to improve effectiveness and efficiency at work.
  • Revise staff job descriptions when necessary in order to increase efficiency and achievement of the organizations goals with input from staff and other relevant resources.
  • Oversee with the HR Manager / Partner support the administration of staff compensation and benefits for better alignment to the market median of the panel (comparators set for the company)
  • Promote effective communication on all levels of the organization.
  • Support the HR Manager / Partner to Act as arbitrator/mediator in work and personnel/personal disputes.
  • Ensure that the vision mission and values are understood by the whole staff under their own supervision.

Customers

  • Ensure that priority is given to the customers complaints and encourage the staff to view such complaints as opportunities to build the loyalty of the said customers.
  • Keep a close relationship with customers in order to enhance their loyalty.
  • Ensure that appropriate actions are taken in order to secure new opportunities to grow the business with new customers (extended to new business segments) with respect to the company policies.
  • Create an environment that consistently provides high levels of service to our customers and generally speaking to the stakeholders.
  • Ensure that relevant actions are undertaken timely to avoid overdue.

Governance

  • Oversee preparation of an Annual Report summarizing progress on short and longrange plans.
  • Proactively provide information history continuity support and guidance to all governance bodies and members in conjunction with the staff.
  • Ensure that the business is run in compliance with the company and corporate policies including Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Ensure the maintenance of official records bylaws and standing rules according to Board action.
  • Ensure that the companys financial transactions are carried out in full compliance with the local (and international as applicable) regulations relating to tax customs duties and any other payment due to statutory bodies.

Asset management

  • Work with the staff to ensure optimum use of the company properties.
  • Ensure that asset acquisition and disposal are carried out prudently and within company policies.

Finance Management

  • Directly responsible for an overall operation.
  • Consolidate all reporting departments budget input to formulate the department budget and submit to leadership for approval and further consolidation.

People Management

  • Provide guidance to direct reports mentor and coach them when necessary.
  • Identify talent for pivotal roles from a succession management standpoint to ensure business continuity and liaise with HR for enrollment in the necessary program.
  • Formulate workforce planning reports and talent acquisition plans and budgets for the department to ensure adequate staffing for optimal operational smoothness and submit to the leadership for approval.
  • Hold regular meetings with the staff in order to strengthen the social climate and to improve effectiveness and efficiency at work.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent mechanical electrical or civil.
  • 1015 years of relevant experience ideally in the energy sector.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Managerial role ability to handle P&L.
