One of our esteemed clients is currently seeking a International News Editor to be based in Abu Dhabi.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International News Editor to join our clients dynamic news team. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of international affairs possess exceptional editorial skills and demonstrate proficiency in managing news content through the Inews system. The International News Editor will play a crucial role in shaping the coverage of global events and ensuring that the audience receives accurate timely and compelling news stories.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the Inews system to manage organize and edit international news content efficiently.
• Oversee the editorial workflow from story ideation to publication ensuring adherence to editorial standards and guidelines.
• Collaborate with reporters and correspondents to develop engaging and informative news stories.
• Provide editorial guidance to reporters ensuring that stories are wellresearched balanced and meet the highest journalistic standards.
• Edit and proofread articles for clarity accuracy and style ensuring content is suitable for the target audience.
• Stay informed about global events trends and issues to guide editorial decisionmaking.
• Work closely with the newsroom team including reporters producers and other editors to coordinate coverage of international events.
• Collaborate with multimedia teams to enhance storytelling through the integration of visual elements such as photos videos and graphics.
• Conduct thorough factchecking to maintain the credibility of our news content.
• Monitor breaking news and update stories as needed ensuring that our audience receives the latest and most accurate information.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends especially in the field of international news reporting.
• Adapt to changes in the news cycle and make realtime decisions to prioritize and manage breaking news.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Journalism Communications or a related field.
• Extensive experience as an editor in international news with a proven track record of successful editorial management.
• Proficiency in the Inews system and other relevant newsroom tools.
• Excellent writing editing and communication skills with full proficiency in English & Arabic.
• Indepth knowledge of global affairs and a keen understanding of different cultures and geopolitical events.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
