SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT
Multidisciplinary pediatric team with self-scheduling, flexible hours, FT or PRN position
JOB SUMMARY
The Speech Therapy Assistant performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the Speech-Language Participates in the rehabilitative plan of care designed by the Speech-Language Pathologist and physician, and monitored and evaluated by the Speech-Language
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant program with an Associates Degree approved by the American Speech-Language Hearing Licensed or certified by the state in which the Speech Therapy Assistant resides or practices according to state Certified from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as a Speech Therapy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires moderately heavy occupational exertion on a regular and reoccurring Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel and hear and Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or Occasionally required to Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 Specific vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Treats patient s speech and language abilities, both defects and assets, and observes the patient s level of Follows an established plan and provides rehabilitative services for speech and language Assists in developing and updating the plan of Provides treatment of cognitive and oral motor
- Observes, reports and records type of treatment and patient s responses to it, reports progress and/or regression to Speech-Language Pathologist, Physician and Program Submits to the Speech-Language Pathologist, Physician and the Program Supervisor written reports of the patient s progress at the designated intervals and at discharge of the patient using the appropriate and designated
- Selects and administers therapeutic techniques and materials for patient treatment Implements augmentative communication devices/aids as needed such as gesture systems, communication boards, electrical automated devices and mechanical devices in the
- Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local and company maintained standards of care and ethics and policies concerned with the practice of therapy and among other things, personnel
- Participates in staff development activities and in in-service education
- Demonstrates evidence of continuing education conducted for in-service
