Job Description:
Seeking an experienced tax specialist to prepare and review federal and state returns of varying complexity, research tax issues, resolve client IRS issues, and consult with clients. Candidate should have experience with all types of filers as the position will require preparing and reviewing both individual and business returns. Candidates must be willing to, capable of, and enjoy meeting with clients.
As a future leader in the firm, there is the necessity to manage, research, schedule, supervise, and review tax work. The candidate will have the opportunity to use client management skills to develop client relationships and identify new business leads. There is the possibility of obtaining an equity interest in the firm resulting from a retiring partner.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of various tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S) with multistate considerations
- Schedule client appointments, handle tax planning meetings, discuss tax strategies, answer client questions, etc.
- Work alongside partners to implement client tax plans and strategies for privately-held businesses
- Assist with firm growth
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 plus years of public accounting experience
- Graduate degree in taxation, a plus
- Active CPA license required
- Thorough understanding of current tax law
- Experience with tax and accounting software (Axcess and QuickBooks)
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, client service, communication, technical and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of trust and estate planning, a plus.
