KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer performs advanced, complex engineering assignments using convention or innovative engineering techniques and analyses. At this level, the Engineer is fully proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.
- Well conversant with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, BS requirements and other International Standards as applicable to infrastructure projects.
- Design of Infrastructure Works. Sewerage, Storm and ground water, TSE and potable water pumping stations and piping works.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, sump sizing, mechanical equipment sizing, application analysis, NPSH determinations etc as required for various types of pumping station and treatment plant installations,
- Design of HVAC, Fire-fighting and plumbing system
- Heat Load Calculation, External Static Pressure Calculation, Duct Sizing, Ventilation and Air Balance Calculation, Chillers and chilled Water Pipe Sizing, Selection of Equipment.
- Preparation of project mechanical specifications, data sheets, drawings and design criteria
- Regularly interfaces with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments as required.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD designer/drafters, designers and engineers working on the same project.
- Support the lead mechanical engineer in the implementation of the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all mechanical works in accordance with program of delivery of all design projects.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10-12 years of related work experience from design consultancy companies in GCC
- Hands-on experience with design software for MEP systems
- Thorough understanding of BS standards/ local Regulations and Codes and other international standards.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering will be preferred
