#GCCSummit41 seems to have played the major role in strengthening the ties between UAE and Qatar. First it was reopening of borders after three long years and now the latest news doing the rounds is that UAE-Qatar is strengthening their bond further.
According to the latest media reports, In an advisory issued by WAM, the UAE is all set to reopen all land, sea and air ports with Qatar from Saturday, January 9, 2021.
This latest move follows the re-establishment of diplomatic ties with Qatar after the four Gulf countries resolved their year’s long dispute.
In the year 2017, The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt cut its ties with Qatar and this log dispute came to an end only a week before after the signing of US-negotiated AL Ula Declaration.
It was just recently that UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Gargash had mentioned that trade and transport could resume within a week.
“We are extremely, extremely supportive and positive about the declaration,” said Dr. Gargash while briefing the media virtually.
