In 2021 Texans were hit with a massive natural disaster Winter Storm Uri which exposed serious weaknesses in Texas power grid. However the Texas energy market and grid infrastructure are complex systems and we recognized a need to better prepare public policymakers to make informed decisions on how to mitigate risks and create long-term energy plans for everyday Texans. PowerHouse Texas rose to address both the policy questions in the energy sector and the leadership gap at the state level.
