International Community Schools (ICS) Al Mushrif a leading American curriculum school in Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified Psychology Teacher to join our dedicated academic team for Cycle 3. We are looking for an individual passionate about fostering critical thinking and a deep understanding of human behavior in our students preparing them for higher education and global citizenship.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology or a closely related field (e.g. Educational Psychology) from an accredited university.
  • Masters Degree in Psychology or Education is highly preferred.
  • Valid professional teaching license/certification in Secondary Education (with a Psychology endorsement where applicable) from a recognized US state or equivalent jurisdiction.
  • Relevant academic transcripts and degree certificates must be attested as per UAE Ministry of Education requirements upon employment.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time post-qualification teaching experience in Psychology at the high school level (Grades 9-12).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching the American curriculum and adhering to US standards for Psychology.
  • Experience with the Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology curriculum and a proven track record of student success in AP exams is a significant advantage.
  • Previous experience in an international school setting particularly in the UAE or Middle East is highly desirable.

Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in utilizing educational technology including Learning Management Systems (LMS) interactive whiteboards and digital assessment tools to enhance student learning.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret student data monitor progress and inform differentiated instruction.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with American curriculum standards.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students parents and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population including English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent classroom management skills that foster a positive inclusive and disciplined learning environment.
  • Commitment to collaborative planning and professional development within a team-oriented academic department.
  • Adaptability resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Curriculum Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in delivering the American curriculum specifically focusing on US national and state standards for high school Psychology.
  • Thorough understanding of instructional best practices tailored for an American educational framework including formative and summative assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with the expectations and requirements for teaching AP Psychology and preparing students for the AP examination.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development related to American educational reforms and standards.

UAE-Specific Requirements:

  • Full compliance with the regulations and professional standards set by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
  • Willingness and eligibility to undergo and successfully complete the ADEK teacher licensing and approval process upon employment.
  • Understanding of and respect for the local culture values and traditions of the UAE.
  • Ability to meet all UAE visa requirements and successfully pass mandatory criminal background checks.

Manage the CEOs calendar appointments meetings and travel arrangements. Coordinate and prepare meeting agendas presentations reports and minutes. Draft proofread and manage professional correspondence in both English and Arabic. Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders. Required Education:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration Management or a related 35 years of experience as an Executive Secretary or Executive Assistant supporting senior in both Arabic and English (reading writing and speaking) is experience in the education or school sector is highly written and verbal communication skills.
