Medical Laboratory Technician

Specialty Specific: • Calibrate tests, run QC, conducts performance checks on all equipment’s. • Train new joiners on running the instrument • Trouble shooting of minor problems related to hard ware and QC related issues • Check daily QC/ External QC • Ensure timely completion of investigations and accuracy in reporting the results/ abnormalities. • Maintain Turn Around Time of reports & assist in interpretation of results • Relay result to attending physician in case of critical or panic value • Senior roles are expected to provide overall supervision and prepare duty roster for the department • Senior roles are also expected to attend to all problems at working level • Proper maintenance of documents and records • Maintain confidentiality of patients files • Enter analysis of medical tests or clinical results into the system and validate the results provisionally • Record QC data • Maintain the log books, temperature sheets L.J graphs files, Test Menu data etc. • Ensure safety, comfort, confidentiality and privacy of the patients. • Follow the house keeping procedures, safe waste disposal procedures and Protocols • Follow infectious materials procedures, Primary sample collection procedures etc. • Ensure all investigations are performed following the SOP & QC protocol • Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if results of QC are within acceptable ranges, take corrective action in case of outliers
