The Role
- Install and terminate fiber optic cables at customer premises (FTTH).
- Configure and mount ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and Wi-Fi routers.
- Perform light-level testing using optical power meters and troubleshoot signal issues.
- Splice fiber if required and ensure proper cable management.
- Set up internet services with proper router settings (SSID password DHCP etc.).
- Maintain detailed installation and fault-handling records.
- Provide customer education on installed services.
- Connect customers to the fiber network (drop cable routing and termination).
- Use fusion splicer to join fibers where needed.
- Install configure and test ONT and home router.
- Check signal strength and rectify poor connections.
- Document work done and report faults to backend/NOC.
- Maintain tools and safety during site visits.
