Job Summary
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the complete electrical design of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) power distribution systems from concept through detailed engineering. The role includes preparation of design calculations engineering documents equipment specifications technical bid evaluations and support during procurement FAT installation commissioning and project close-out.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical System Design
Design MV and LV power distribution systems.
Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
Develop electrical load lists and load schedules.
Perform load flow short circuit voltage drop motor starting and cable sizing calculations.
Conduct protective relay coordination and selectivity studies.
Prepare equipment sizing calculations.
Design earthing and lightning protection systems.
Design power distribution architecture for industrial plants.
Detailed Engineering
Prepare cable schedules and cable routing drawings.
Develop cable tray layouts.
Prepare conduit layouts.
Prepare lighting layouts and lighting calculations.
Develop grounding layouts
Prepare equipment layouts.
Develop hazardous area electrical designs where applicable.
Prepare junction box schedules.
Prepare termination schedules.
Prepare interconnection drawings.
Panel & Switchgear Engineering
Design MV switchgear systems
Design LV switchboards.
Design MCCs and PCCs.
Design PLC and control panels.
Review vendor GA drawings.
Review panel wiring diagrams
Review internal layouts.
Verify heat dissipation requirements

Coordinate with vendors during detailed engineering.
Resolve technical queries from clients and site teams.
Participate in design review meetings and HAZOP/SIL workshops where applicable.
Site Support
Support construction teams during installation.
Resolve site engineering issues.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Participate in Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Support commissioning activities.
Review red-line markups and prepare as-built drawings.
