Job Description
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the designated GM Middle East office a minimum of three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business with the remainder of the week worked remotely.
This is a senior Sales leadership role responsible for driving growth profitability and market share across nine markets in the Middle East. The position leads Sales Fleet and Accessories teams as well as the dealer network to deliver on GM Middle Easts volume EBIT and customer satisfaction objectives. The role will shape and execute both short- and long-term business plans including ICE and EV entries to set the region up for sustainable success. As part of the MEO leadership team the role is accountable for safeguarding GMs reputation ensuring compliance with GM policies and applicable local and international laws and exercising expert judgment on sensitive customer dealer governmental legal and media matters.
- Lead sales strategy and business planning for the Middle East aligning with MEO long-term plans and volume aspirations for both ICE and EV entries in the short and long term.
- Develop propose and execute growth and transformation plans setting clear departmental priorities and objectives to drive cross-functional alignment.
- Own new vehicle sales performance including deliveries production forecasting with Sales Operations fleet operations management and risk mitigation to meet sales share and EBIT targets.
- Manage sales allowance and tactical budgets leading short-term and long-term approval strategies to support market and dealer performance.
- Oversee Fleet and Government Relations setting and achieving objectives across strategic tenders government fleet mobility fleet and dealer fleet sales.
- Direct accessory strategy including development objectives targets and performance to support overall revenue and customer value.
- Build and maintain strong dealer relationships acting as the subject-matter expert on dealer priorities improving dealer processes and profitability and ensuring concerns are addressed through formal and informal forums.
- Provide people leadership for a sizeable sales organization driving a high-performance culture talent development engagement retention and a workplace of choice.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 15 years experience in automotive sales service or marketing including direct experience with dealers government agencies and media.
- At least 5 years senior-level management experience including leading an organization of at least 30 salaried employees.
- Proven experience in emerging markets or high-growth businesses with demonstrated ability to set long-term dealer strategy while achieving monthly operating results.
- Broad and deep knowledge of the automotive business including dealer operations business management and dealer financial operating reports.
- Demonstrated strategy development capability and strong business planning skills including risk management and transformation initiatives.
- Strong people leadership and management skills with a track record of motivating coaching and developing teams.
- Well-developed negotiation change management and strategic thinking skills with a strong focus on results.
- Ability to create innovative solutions with a proactive approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments (dealers customers government media).
- Ability to exercise expert judgment in sensitive areas such as customer complaints legal and governmental issues FCPA-related matters integrity issues and business continuity/emergency scenarios.
