Via Medica in Association with International SOSis looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance team in the UAE. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate AP operations timely payments and smooth month-end close while supporting service quality KPIs and strategic finance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate posting of trade and non-trade payables to correct GLs and analytical dimensions
Review journals prepared by Junior AP Accountants prior to system posting
Process periodic and ad hoc payments with zero tolerance for errors or duplicate payments
Reconcile vendor statements aged balances and AP accounts
Manage payroll journal postings and reconcile salary and payroll-related accruals
Support month-end close activities in coordination with regional finance teams
Act as liaison between Finance and HR for payroll-related matters
Handle AP queries from internal and external stakeholders promptly
Work closely with Treasury and CFO on banking cash flow and reporting
Support peers and provide guidance to junior team members as needed
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accountancy or equivalent
Minimum 8years of experience in Accounting / Accounts Payable
Prior experience managing or supervising AP Officers or Junior Accountants
Strong understanding of P2P / PTP processes
Experience in a fast-paced high-volume MNC environment is an advantage
Working knowledge of SAP SUN or Oracle accounting systems
Advanced Excel skills (including XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)
Strong attention to detail high integrity and ability to meet tight deadlines
