Mechanical Technician

1. To execute all mechanical related mechanical maintenance activities in Fujairah Water & Power Plant in a safe and secured manner.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Execute scheduled, routine, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities as per the instruction of the supervisor.
2. Able to understand the basic alignment / balancing of the mechanical equipment’s.
3. Have knowledge of Multi Stage Flash – systems including Dosing system, stages, Brine recirculation pumps, sea water intake pumps, hypo dosing systems.
4. Have knowledge of RO plant and associated systems.
5. Update Supervisor/Engineer on job progress and any difficulty in carrying out the work.
6. Maintain reliability and availability of equipment being repaired by adhering to vendor’s manual and good engineering practices.
7. Able to understand the job and have basic troubleshooting skills in identifying the defects related to mechanical issues.
8. Assist Supervisor/Engineer in job planning & preparation.
9. Check the isolations to ensure safe working of individual and team.
10. Trains and verifies the subcontracted manpower for its competencies.
11. Update Supervisor/Engineer on job progress as well as process deficiencies.
12. Assist Supervisor/Engineer on spares inspection and IGRN.
13. Assist Supervisor/Engineer on job planning, spares identification and execution.
14. Promote quality and safety since beginning until end of the maintenance work and maintain records as well.
15. Assist Supervisor/Engineer in testing and certification of lifting tackles, lifting beams, safety valves etc.
16. Always use personal protective equipment’s and special protections as and when required.
17. Use proper and productive tools like hydraulic and pneumatic wrenches to save time and effort.
18. Practice safe working principles in order to protect plant equipment and personnel.

EHS Responsibility
1. Bring up EHS concerns to the attention direct supervisor or EHS department.
2. Be vigilant in the work area, identify and report to Supervisors about imminent dangers/hazards/concerns to environment, health and safety.
3. Always follow the standard operations control procedures to avoid any EHS incidents/nonconformities.
4. Follow sound environment health and safety practices on and off duty.
