Below are the primary roles and responsibilities of a cashier:
Greet customers warmly as they approach the counter.
Answer customer queries regarding products prices or store policies.
Handle complaints or direct customers to the appropriate personnel.
Scan process and total purchases accurately.
Open and close the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts.
Maintain an accurate cash drawer by balancing daily transactions.
Report discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
Ensure products are neatly arranged at counters.
