National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company is a leading manufacturer of fire fighting equipment and supplies. Our mission is to provide highquality reliable products that ensure the safety of our customers and their communities. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation and we are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team.
As a Cost Accountant at National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company you will be responsible for analyzing monitoring and controlling our companys costs to help us achieve our financial goals. You will work closely with our Accounting Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of costs and to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cost accounting system policies and procedures
Monitor and analyze manufacturing and operational costs
Prepare and analyze cost reports highlighting variances and recommending solutions
Work with Operations team to develop and maintain standard costs for products
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Collaborate with Purchasing team to evaluate vendor pricing and negotiate costsaving opportunities
Conduct periodic inventory reviews to ensure accuracy and identify obsolete inventory
Participate in monthend and yearend close processes
Ensure compliance with accounting tax and regulatory requirements
Provide support for external audits and internal control processes
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or related role
Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
