Consultant Neonatology

Critical Competencies

Advanced Clinical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of neonatal physiology pathology and management of critical neonatal conditions.

Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in interpreting neonatal diagnostic tests including blood gases ultrasounds and other relevant investigations.

Therapeutic Interventions: Expert in administering advanced neonatal life support including intubation ventilation and medication management.

Neonatal Intensive Care: Indepth knowledge of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) operations and management.

Teaching and Mentoring: Proven ability to educate medical students residents and fellow neonatologists.

Communication Skills: Effective communication with parents families and other healthcare professionals.

Leadership Skills: Capacity to lead a neonatal team and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• MBBS/MB ChB or equivalent.
  
  
• American board/ Canadian board/ Australian board/ South African board or evidence of equivalent qualification (Tier 1).
  
  
• Full registration (and a license to practice) as Consultant Neonatology not Pediatrics (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
  
  
  

• 5 Years Experience in the same capacity
  
  
• With Clinical and Academic Experience in a known University Hospital
