Job Description

As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for repairing customer-owned equipment to precise specifications. Your daily tasks include disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling units such as gearboxes, rail couplers, fluid couplings, torque converters, automatic transmissions, and pumps. You will ensure all parts meet safety, quality, and productivity standards while adhering to customer deadlines. This role requires excellent communication, a commitment to continuous improvement in safety and processes, and the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in York, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

The work environment is a well-lit manufacturing facility with individual workstations equipped with benches, tools, and overhead cranes for handling larger pieces. The shop operates with approximately 37 staff members across 4 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, with potential overtime. The facility adheres to a dress code of steel-toed boots, long pants, and shirts. An expansion is planned for January 2024 to include an additional 10,000 square feet and CNC machines. The machinery serviced supports various industries, including rail and mobility, mining, and power oil and gas. Expect to work in conditions that may involve grease, dirt, and oil.
