Medical Coding Executive

The Medical Coding Professional will be responsible for accurately translating patient information into standardized codes used for billing and insurance purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology anatomy physiology and the ICD10 CPT and HCPCS coding systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical statements and assign standard codes using ICD10 CPT and HCPCS.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of coding for medical billing.
• Verify and resolve coding discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with federal regulations payer policies and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis for internal audits and quality improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.
• Provide training and support to healthcare staff on coding procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding.
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent.
• Indepth knowledge of ICD10 CPT and HCPCS coding systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in using medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a specific medical specialty (e.g. cardiology orthopedics etc.)
• Experience with coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
