PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering consultancy particularly in the Oil & Gas sector and possess expertise in designing instrumentation systems for various projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop detailed instrumentation designs and specifications based on project requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare Instrumentation Index Datasheets I/O Lists Hookup drawings and other technical documents.
- Collaborate with engineers clients and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
- Conduct technical reviews and evaluations to optimize design efficiency and performance.
- Provide support during procurement construction and commissioning phases ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Perform design calculations and simulations using appropriate software tools.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Participate in design reviews HAZOP and other safety studies as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience 5 Years as an Instrumentation Designer in an Engineering Consultancy preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD SPI SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar tools.
- Indepth knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g. ISA API IEC) related to instrumentation design.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and independently when required.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices is desirable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent (Preferred).
- Experience with DCS/PLC systems and integration(Preferred).
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g. PDMS PDS) for interdisciplinary coordination(Preferred).
