PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Modeller with expertise in WaterGEMS and wastewater projects to join our dynamic engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing calibrating and maintaining hydraulic models to support the design analysis and optimization of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The Hydraulic Modeller will work closely with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain hydraulic models of water distribution and wastewater collection systems using WaterGEMS.
- Update models with the latest data including network configurations demand patterns and operational settings.
- Calibrate hydraulic models using field data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Validate models through comparison with observed system performance and adjust parameters as necessary.
- Perform hydraulic analyses to evaluate system performance under various scenarios including peak demand emergency conditions and future growth.
- Identify and diagnose issues related to pressure flow and capacity constraints.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing findings conclusions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate hydraulic modeling results into design and planning activities.
- Provide technical support during the design and construction phases of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals cost estimates and project schedules.
- Communicate modeling results and technical information to clients regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings workshops and public presentations as required.
- Stay uptodate with the latest developments in hydraulic modeling software and methodologies.
- Provide training and support to junior staff and team members on hydraulic modeling techniques and software usage.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
- Minimum of X years of experience in hydraulic modeling of water and wastewater systems.
- Proven experience with WaterGEMS or similar hydraulic modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles and fluid mechanics.
- Proficiency in using WaterGEMS for model development calibration and analysis.
- Familiarity with other modeling software (e.g. EPANET SWMM) is a plus.
- Experience with GIS software and tools for data integration and analysis.
