As Germany s leading price comparison portal, we provide innovative services to more than 15 million customers. To have full control over the business critical payment processes of all CHECK24 products we ve built our own PCI payment service provider. As (Senior) PHP Developer (m/f/d) you will be shaping the payment landscape at CHECK24.

Within the Zahlungssysteme Team, our vision is to create the best payment experience for our customers. We build groundbreaking high-impact payment services like own buy now pay later solution together with C24 Bank from scratch as well as offering all state of the art payment ods like Credit Card, PayPal, Apple-/Google Pay and virtual Credit Cards.

Our team works closely together with the C-Level Management of all CHECK24 products and directly reports to the CTO of CHECK24. You will be at the core of the CHECK24 architecture.

We love high availability: We run our systems in two datacenters with a Master-Master MySQL Replication and take pride in our uptime. You do not need to be an expert in this setup but eager to learn we are happy to teach you more insides on the job.

Tasks

• You develop new payment products and product features for all other CHECK24 products you also take the ownership for this and collaborate closely with product management
• You improve the highly secure and fully redundant technical architecture, consisting of two datacenters with frontend, backend, database, caches, etc. and drive technical discussions with the different stakeholders
• You build well-structured, reusable, and doented code, further improve automated release processes (continuous integration) and test features (unit testing) to ensure robustness and high quality of one of the most crucial components at CHECK24
• You take responsibility for team members that are technically on a junior level and coach them

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience
• Good knowledge in object-oriented software development with PHP > 8.0 and MySQL.
• First experience (or the strong motivation to learn) in frontend software development with React, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Linux/DevOps Knowledge is a plus
• You strive for best-in-cl development practices and clean code, are quality aware and work independently and solution-oriented
• You act as a sed problem solver and give and embrace feedback
• You have strong written and spoken command of English and ideally some basic German communication ss
