Privacy and Data Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Track, and analyze, policy and legislative trends related to privacy and data use, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, and share insights with internal partners to help guide development of products and policies.
- Gather and develop external research to support Meta’s policy positions on legislative and regulatory issues.
- Draft policy position papers for internal and external audiences on a range of data regulatory matters, including artificial intelligence.
- Develop content for global audiences to further Meta’s legislative and policy positions (e.g., op-eds, position papers, etc.).
- Work closely with a cross-functional global team on data regulation matters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of AI regulatory trends across the globe and their impact and relevance for our industry.
- Knowledge of key AI policy issues and the surrounding debate: accountability, existential risk, generative AI, transparency, privacy, bias, misuse and misinformation, and an experience to leverage this knowledge for cross policy talking points, and leadership capacity building.
- Experience analyzing and drafting legislation, and drafting short- and long-form educational materials and talking points.
- Experience navigating dynamic work environments and prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects.
- Previous experience creating scalable policy solutions and frameworks for policy teams to use based on knowledge of AI policy environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience working on technology law or policy.
- Native or fluent in English. Fluency in another language a plus.
- Proven track record and experience engaging on legislation in different regions around the world, and collaborating with local stakeholders.
- Experience in translating regulation, in its draft or final form, into technical product requirements and vice versa.
