We have an exciting opportunity for an intellectually curious student, with skills in Python, R, statistics, and life sciences for a Data Science Internship during the Easter holiday. What can we offer you? As a Data Science Intern, you will be provided with valuable exposure to the medical device industry, leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve patient lives and solve complex healthcare problems. You will work within a cross-functional technology team, fully supported and under the guidance of data and domain experts. The role of Data Science Intern is offered on a four-week, full time, internship basis, during the Easter holiday, with a highly competitive daily pay rate and predominately remote working pattern, with some requirement to attend our Head Office in Basingstoke for data collection and training purposes. Key duties: Developing algorithms to detect early signs of device failure and enable predictive maintenance. Applying machine learning to optimise device settings for users, leading to personalised care. Mining data from devices and electronic health records to uncover new healthcare insights. Building data dashboards and visualisation tools for our Engineers (in time, Clinicians) to improve decision making. Using telemetry data to identify areas for new medical device innovation. What are we looking for? Key skills Degree in Computer Science/Data Science Experience in using modern software platforms and data warehouses. Experience in machine learning, data science and algorithm development to proactively analyse future data to predict trends. Develop and test hypotheses on relationships in the data and patient outcomes. Ability to quickly generate prototype code to support investigation of patterns in defined data sets.
