Senior Specialist - Research Outreach

JOB PURPOSE

Act as a focal point between the scientific community and client, by building a connection locally, regionally, and internationally with relevant stakeholders like academia, scientific institutions, governments, and research funding programs to achieve client R&D agenda.

Develop outreach strategies, including determination of conferences that should be attended, plans for press coverage, and other outreach activities.

Receive and evaluate collaboration opportunities and research proposals from external parties.

Plan, organize and participate in technical meetings and consultations that convene diverse experts to advance key issues in scientific research.

Attend and participate in multidisciplinary research team meetings and functions.

Prepare briefing materials and summaries of meetings, workshops, and conferences.

Identify and promote specific funding opportunities to support the development of multidisciplinary grant proposals and projects based on team science and scholarship.

Support R&D team by reading, analysing and organizing the response to requests for proposals, requests for information, broad agency announcements, and other funding opportunity announcements.

Provide project management to proposal development efforts.

Prepare for a variety of information exchanges with public and private sector science colleagues working on research, programs, and policy related to research program priorities.

Assist with the writing of non-technical proposal components (e.g., diversity and inclusion, education and outreach, data management, facilities, etc.).

Conduct team debriefing of project submissions to build on best practices and enhance resubmission success.

Develop institutional templates for common proposal components.

Provide an editorial review of proposals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assessments so that the same can be reviewed for possible improvement of the system.

Monitors all the improvement actions along for their effectiveness.

Participates in some functional improvement team s client as and when needed.

Any additional responsibilities as advised by the direct Line Manager or Head of Department.

Requirements

5+ years of experience.

Experience in research development, business development, proposal development, project management, research administration, or a closely related field.

Sufficient understanding and expertise across the technology lifecycle, TRL, including: R&D and IP strategy, engineering, scale-up, project development, economic evaluation, supply chain development, risk evaluation and mitigation, as well as strategy and business development.

Deep experience of developing business cases for new technology- based products or solutions.

Background in science and engineering.
