Job Description
Assessing patient health: Nurses are responsible for conducting a thorough assessment of the patients health status, which includes measuring vital signs, evaluating symptoms, and reviewing medical history.
Developing care plans: Based on their assessment, nurses develop care plans that address the patients physical, emotional, and mental needs. Care plans may include medication administration, wound care, and therapy recommendations.
Administering medications: Nurses are responsible for administering medications as prescribed by physicians. This includes administering injections, intravenous medications, and oral medications.
Monitoring patients: Nurses monitor patients health and response to treatment, and report any changes to the physician.
Educating patients and families: Nurses educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care.
Collaborating with health care team: Nurses work collaboratively with other health care professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Maintaining patient records: Nurses maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Providing emotional support: Nurses provide emotional support to patients and their families during stressful and difficult times.
