Fire Captain

• Reports directly to the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations. Directs and leads firefighters during firefighting operations, rescue operations, hazardous materials incidents and other related emergencies events.
• Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, responsible for implementing LOGCAP V Fire Protection Plan and ensuring emergency response operations are conducted within the guidelines stipulated by this plan and the Emergency Management Plans.
• Serves as the team leader for either a rescue unit, ladder truck, engine company, water tender or airport crash apparatus.
• Enters burning or contaminated structures, vehicles, and other immediately dangerous to life and health areas to fight fires and/or perform rescues while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Directs Crew Chief/Company Officer level operations for structural fires, aircraft fires, rescue operations, medical emergencies, hazardous materials responses and other emergency events as directed. (45%)
• Provides supervision to Fire-fighters. Required to maintain and clean personal protective equipment and supervise firefighters in cleaning equipment and facilities.
• Performs duties in support of organizational metrics.
• Trains and orients subordinate employees on performance,
• documentation, and activities that effect the achievement of department metrics.
• Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their subordinates and others as needed to relay information necessary for job success.
• This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, performance appraisals, job requirements, division metrics, projects, quality standard procedures, and safety practices.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license from QATAR.
• High School diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred)
• DoD, Pro-board or International Fire Services Accreditation Congress Certification as:
• Must meet training and certification requirements outlined in DOD 6055.06 –M. Fire Officer II, ◦ Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazmat Operations and Incident Commander, Airport
• Firefighter. (HazMat Technician preferred), Emergency Medical Responder, (Emergency Medical ◦ Technician (EMT) or higher preferred)
• Experience: ◦ Requires 5 years with an organized Fire or Emergency Service Department.
• Program Specific Requirements: ◦ Extensive Fire Fighting and Emergency Service Experience. (5 Years) ◦ Must be able to supervise and manage the activities of multi-national and culturally diverse work force. ◦ Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues. ◦ Be familiar with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
