Located in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, within walking distance to Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art and a short distance to the business district, West Bay.At Mandarin Oriental, Doha we welcome colleagues with the passion to deliver the best service and exceed our guest’s expectations.Main ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all mise en place is prepared to the highest quality as per standards set by the superiorsEnsure the set up and replenishment of buffetsAssist superiors in the pickup of requisition and in organizing it in the corresponding storageInform superior of ingredient quantities when the stock levels are low and ensures there are always enough for the day to day usageStore ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved and labelled according to standardCleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area before and after usage as per food safety standardWashes and peels ingredients in order for them to be used in the production of dishesReport cleanliness and maintenance issues of the kitchens and stewarding area to and support daily checks done by his superiorsAdhere to strict personal hygiene standards at all timesRequirementsHigh School qualification or equivalentDegree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary art is preferredBasic experience in preparing and cooking foodAbility to work long hours with a strong focus on operational excellenceBasic knowledge of the kitchen tools and utensils in order to perform the specific tasksA minimum 1 year of culinary experience working as Cook I or II in a high volume hotel or free standing restaurant is preferredIf you are interested in joining our team apply today!
