Associate Professor in Economics

JOB DESCRIPTION The Gulf Studies Program is seeking a Full/Associate Professor who is motivated to teach and develop graduate courses in the field of Political Economy of the Gulf as part of the Gulf Studies graduate program. Candidate should have strong teaching and research interests in economy, political economy and all related topics with emphasis on the Gulf region. Primary responsibilities include teaching graduate courses, contributing to the program curriculum, supervising graduate student research, and contributing to the research portfolio of the Center as well as the College. All QU Faculty members must demonstrate effectiveness in the following categories: teaching, academic advising and program development, scholarly research, professional or creative activities and institutional/community service. Duties& Responsibilities • Teach courses and supervise students in the area of Political Economy of the Gulf. • Contribute to various committees at the Program, College, and University level. • Contribute to the research profile of College through research publications. • Serve as graduate student advisor. • Provide advice, support and supervise student’s research and thesis • Provision of a general educational lectures and sessions for students • Active participation in the program and college activities and committees. • Offer significant input into the further development of Gulf Program and Research Center. • Provide service to the profession, university, the community, and the State of Qatar. • Perform other academic duties in accordance with Qatar University academic by laws.
