The Torque Turns Computer Maintenance / SALVO LAB Technician is responsible for repairing installing maintaining calibrating and troubleshooting torque-turn monitoring systems used during tubular running operations to ensure reliable oil and Gas well Construction. This position requires candidates to demonstrate well-established technical knowledge focused on the calibration operation verification and analysis of Torque & Turns monitoring systems used during oil and gas well Construction/completion operations.
As a Maintenance Technician - Torque Turns you will be responsible for:
- Installing configuring and maintaining torque-turn computer systems data acquisition units Torque subs and associated sensors (e.g. load cells encoders proximity sensors).
- Performing equipment calibration validation and function testing to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with company/client requirements.
- Monitoring live torque-turn plots during casing tubing and completion operations; providing immediate feedback to the operating team when trends deviate from specifications.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults under field conditions escalating complex issues when required.
- Executing preventive maintenance pre-job checks and routine system inspections to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Reviewing and analyzing torque-turn data to identify anomalies and connection make-up issues.
- Providing technical support to field crews during rig-up/rig-down and operational activities.
- Maintaining an inventory of spares and consumables; confirming readiness of contingency equipment and backup systems.
- Complying with HSE policies procedures and permit-to-work requirements; participating in toolbox talks and risk assessments.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Technical Diploma or Bachelors /Higher Educational Degree in Electronics Instrumentation Electrical Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Electromechanics Computer or Instrumentation Technology or a related industrial and Oil & Gas discipline.
- 35 years of experience in oil & gas field operations (torque-turn or tubular running services).
- Solid understanding of torque-turn principles connection make-up theory and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience with torque-turn software platforms and data acquisition hardware.
- Working knowledge of Power tongs Power Units (Electric & Diesel) casing running tools (CRT) and tubular handling equipment.
- Ability to interpret torque-turn graphs connection specifications and operating procedures.
