Irrigation Inspector
Job Summary
Job Description
The Irrigation Inspector will perform a broad crosssection of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Quality Control and Quality Assurance inspection of construction work.
Job Duties
Analyzes applicable codes standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance.
- Inspect irrigation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings specifications and project requirements.
- Monitor installation of irrigation pipelines fittings valves sprinklers drip systems and controllers.
- Verify alignment levels and routing of irrigation pipelines as per approved layout.
- Ensure materials used (pipes valves pumps fittings controllers sprinklers) meet approved standards and specifications.
- Review and verify material submittals and ensure approved materials are used on site.
- Attend and witness inspection requests (WIRs) submitted by the contractor.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure irrigation works are carried out as per approved method statements.
- Identify non-conforming work and report issues to the Resident Engineer / Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Issue site observations and follow up on corrective actions by the contractor.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain site records.
- Monitor daily progress of irrigation works and verify quantities if required.
- Coordinate with contractors landscape engineers and other inspectors on site.
- Ensure works comply with project specifications authority requirements and local regulations.
- Witness pressure testing of irrigation pipelines.
- Verify flushing cleaning and testing of irrigation networks.
- Inspect installation of valve chambers control valves and irrigation chambers.
- Check installation of irrigation pumps filters and control systems.
- Witness testing and commissioning of irrigation systems and automatic controllers.
- Ensure safety procedures and environmental regulations are followed during irrigation works.
- Participate in site meetings related to irrigation and landscape works.
- Assist in snagging inspections and preparation of punch lists.
- Verify as-built drawings and documentation before project handover.
- Ensure proper coordination with landscape works and utilities works.
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with project quality management procedures.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualification
High school/ Technical Institute Diploma / Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil Mechanical Electrical Structural etc.)
Experience
The ideal candidate to be Civil Engineering graduate with minimum 7 years experience in similar works on Irrigation Inspection or Technical Institute Diploma in related field with minimum 9 years experience in similar works or High School or equivalent institute graduate with minimum 14 years experience in similar works.
