Job Summary
Description
- Monitoring student behavior attendance and overall conduct and intervening when concerns arise.
- Support staff in the consistent implementation of behavior expectations and restorative practices.
- Champion a whole-KG1-G5 approach to wellbeing promoting a culture of care respect and belonging.
- Align pastoral initiatives with the schools mission values and strategic goals.
- Act as a key liaison between students staff and families in matters related to student welfare and conduct. Contribute to policy development in areas related to pastoral care safeguarding and student conduct.
- Collaborating with teachers counselors and leadership to support student development and respond to behavioral incidents with restorative approaches and in alignment with school policies.
- Communicating with families regarding student wellbeing behavior and support plans.
- Plan and lead parent meetings on student behavior management and wellbeing topics.
- Leading initiatives that foster a respectful inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Participates in collaborates and contributes to ISP audits KHDA DSIB SEF and NEASC.
- Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the school ensuring all safeguarding policies are implemented and followed.
- Maintain accurate safeguarding records and manage the schools reporting and monitoring systems.
- Deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions for staff students and parents.
- Liaise with external agencies when necessary to ensure the safety and protection of students.
- Conduct regular reviews of school safeguarding procedures and contribute to whole-school audits and compliance.
- Be part of all team around the child (TAC) meetings.
- In collaboration with the elementary guidance counsellor design implement and manage student wellbeing surveys.
- Analyze wellbeing and data to identify trends strengths and areas for development.
- Facilitate student and parent feedback opportunities including forums and voice initiatives.
- Share data insights with relevant stakeholders and use findings to inform and adjust pastoral programming.
- Monitor impact of wellbeing interventions and support services using data to guide future planning.
- Contribute toward planning and delivery of Morning Meetings and wellbeing lessons to ensure alignment with school values and pastoral themes.
- Collaborate with teachers to provide guidance resources and consistent messaging for these sessions.
- Conduct regular observations and provide feedback to ensure effective implementation.
- Support professional development for staff on social-emotional learning and pastoral practices.
- Gather feedback from students and teachers to evaluate and refine the effectiveness of the programs.
- Lead and oversee the Student Council ensuring meaningful student participation and leadership opportunities.
- Support students in planning and leading initiatives that promote school spirit community and student wellbeing.
- Facilitate platforms for student voice and feedback ensuring it is incorporated into school improvement planning.
- Encourage student agency through leadership roles in events assemblies and peer support programs.
- Part of the planning and coordination of key events and competitions as related to the school.
- Plan and lead student-focused events that celebrate diversity character and community values.
- Organize and deliver weekly assemblies that align with the schools pastoral themes calendar events and values.
- Collaborate with teachers and students to ensure assemblies are engaging inclusive and purposeful.
- Coordinate with staff to ensure events are well-managed communicated and support the schools pastoral and cultural goals.
- Contribute and support the planning organization and implementation of the schools co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
- Once SLT has approved the offerings liaise with the registrar to seek KHDA approval of offerings.
- Ensure a diverse and balanced range of activities that support student interests talents wellbeing and holistic development.
- Collaborate with staff to schedule staff and promote clubs sports arts and leadership opportunities.
- Monitor student participation and engagement identifying opportunities to increase access and involvement.
- Develops wellbeing action plans in collaboration with team members.
- Serves as a representative on school Improvement committees.
- Contribute to the school improvement plan and the regular updating of the Self-Evaluation Framework (SEF) including the collection and updating of evidence.

- Create a climate of high-quality professional dialogue constantly striving for improvement and sharing of best practice between teachers from different subject areas to enrich and enhance the learning process.
- Encourage involvement with relevant professional development and conduct PD as needed.
- Represent NIS at any PD as determined appropriate by the Principal or Head of Elementary.
- Drawing on recent and relevant pedagogical research and contributing to the professional learning of colleagues through modeling and sharing best practice.
- Plan and deliver parent workshops on relevant wellbeing and safeguarding topics.
- These KPIs will be set in collaboration with the individual taking on this role.
