We are seeking a highly skilled Team lead - Marine with extensive experience in the planning and design of marine structures and coastal projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset excellent design skills and a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams within a consultancy environment particularly in the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Planning: Lead the planning and design of various marine structures including:
- Breakwaters revetments marinas scour protection systems block work quay walls sheet pile structures outfalls subsea pipelines subsea cables diaphragm walls and jetties.
- Marine terminals and ports focusing on both marine and topside components.
- Artificial islands beaches marinas harbors and waterfront developments.
Coastal Modelling: Apply extensive knowledge in coastal modelling including hydrodynamic wave and sediment transport modelling. Proficiency in software tools such as DHI Mike Zero Delft modelling suites Staad Pro Plaxis Geo5 and Slope-W is essential.
Project Management: Oversee project management activities including proposal preparation and business development ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Geotechnical Expertise: Conduct geotechnical and foundation design for coastal and marine structures ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Site Supervision: Occasionally travel for site supervision trips within the UAE and the broader Middle East ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor design teams fostering collaboration and innovation across multidisciplinary projects.
Technical Documentation: Create detailed designs calculations sketches diagrams and final working drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
Qualifications :
- Experience: 10 to 20 years of experience in coastal or marine engineering and geotechnical engineering within a consultancy environment.
- Regional Experience: Proven experience working in the Middle East.
- Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead design teams and manage multidisciplinary projects.
- Project Management: Strong project management experience in consulting projects.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Marine Coastal Oceanography Marine Geoscience or related field).
- Advanced Degree: Masters or PhD in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
