The role > The role ensures the design implementation and governance of comprehensive clinical training and competency programs across mental health addiction and detox services with a strong focus on patient safety risk management and regulatory compliance. It supports adherence to licensing and accreditation standards strengthens clinical governance and ensures clinicians are equipped to manage high-risk scenarios including withdrawal management safeguarding and dual-diagnosis care. The role also serves as a key strategic partner in shaping the facility’s clinical culture fostering a learning environment that prioritizes continuous improvement innovation and evidence-based practice.
Tasks/Activities assigned > Designs structured evidence-based training programs tailored to mental health addiction detoxification and rehabilitation services. Delivers engaging classroom simulation and practical training for multidisciplinary teams including nurses therapists counselors and clinical support staff; Adapts training to meet the needs of staff with varying clinical experience ensuring safe and effective patient care in high-risk detox and rehab settings; Develops and maintains clinical competency frameworks aligned with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice; Monitors supervision outcomes and competency data to identify gaps and implement targeted development plans; Develops and delivers training programs that promote safe clinical practice and minimize risks in mental health addiction and detox care; Monitors and evaluates clinical incidents near misses and audit findings to identify training needs and mitigate future risks; Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to patient safety clinical governance and ethical practice; Promotes a culture of safety by encouraging reporting reflective practice and continuous learning across all clinical teams
Requirements of the position > Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Psychology Social Work Occupational Therapy or a related mental health discipline is required; Master’s degree in Mental Health Clinical Education Addiction Studies Rehabilitation or a related field is preferred; NLT ten (10) clinical experience in mental health addiction detox or rehabilitation settings; 3–5 years in clinical training education or supervision roles preferably in multidisciplinary healthcare teams; Hands-on experience in managing detoxification programs rehabilitation planning relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis care; Proven track record in developing and delivering training programs for nurses; Experience in high-risk and acute care environments including crisis management safeguarding and patient safety initiatives
