Job Summary
1. Position Summary
The Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon is responsible for providing advanced surgical care to infants children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart diseases. The role requires a Tier-1 Western-trained surgeon with proven experience in complex pediatric cardiac procedures within a tertiary care environment.
2. Minimum Qualifications & Licensing Requirements
Tier-1 Accepted Qualifications
One of the following (or equivalent):

UK CCT / CESR (Cardiothoracic Surgery Pediatric focus)

American Board Certification (Thoracic Surgery Pediatric Cardiac fellowship)
-
Canadian RCPSC Fellowship
-
Irish CSCST
-
Australian FRACS (Cardiothoracic Surgery Pediatric)
-
German Facharzt (Cardiac Surgery with pediatric specialization)
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum 35 years post-consultant experience in pediatric cardiac surgery.
-
Demonstrated competence in high-complexity congenital cardiac procedures.
Licensing
-
Eligible for DOH or DHA Consultant License.
-
DataFlow verification and DOH/DHA exam or exemption as per Tier-1 rules.
3. Key Responsibilities
-
Perform the full spectrum of pediatric congenital cardiac surgeries including:
-
Neonatal and infant cardiac repairs
-
VSD/ASD repairs
-
Tetralogy of Fallot repair
-
Arterial switch procedures
-
Valve repairs and replacements
-
Complex congenital reconstructions
-
-
Provide pre-operative assessment operative care and post-operative management.
-
Collaborate with pediatric cardiology PICU anesthesia and perfusion teams.

Participate in surgical planning meetings and multidisciplinary case reviews.

Ensure high standards of documentation and compliance with UAE regulatory requirements.

Scheduled operating lists
