Job Description Assistant Fabricator (Structural & Piping)
Job Overview
The Assistant Fabricator supports structural and piping fabrication activities by assisting senior fabricators in cutting fitting and assembling materials as per approved drawings and site instructions. The role is suitable for candidates with basic fabrication experience and primary drawing knowledge working in industrial or project-based environments while strictly following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in fabrication of structural steel and piping components under supervision
Support cutting fitting assembling and tack welding activities as instructed
Read and understand basic fabrication drawings isometrics and sketches
Help ensure dimensional accuracy and proper alignment of fabricated parts
Coordinate with fabricators welders and supervisors during fabrication work
Maintain cleanliness discipline and safety at the workplace
Handle tools and equipment safely and report any defects or issues
Assist during shutdowns maintenance and project fabrication activities
Follow company safety rules quality procedures and work instructions
Report material shortages or fabrication issues to the supervisor
Essential Qualifications
Education: 10th / 2 / ITI (Mechanical or relevant trade preferred)
Experience: 1 to 3 years in structural and piping fabrication
Basic knowledge of fabrication drawings and measurement tools
Experience in industrial workshop or project-based fabrication environments
Skills Required
Basic understanding of structural and piping fabrication works
Ability to read simple drawings and follow instructions accurately
Knowledge of hand tools cutting tools and basic fabrication equipment
Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina
Teamwork and willingness to learn on the job
Awareness of workplace safety practices
Additional Requirements / Preferences
Age: Below 35 years
Nationality Preference: Indian (Tamil-speaking preferred)
Habits: No liquor habit
Willingness to work overtime or shifts if required
Ability to work in hot industrial or site conditions
