Job Summary

Position Summary

The Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in the College of Finance and Banking supports the Dean in managing academic programs faculty coordination and student support services. This role ensures high standards of academic excellence student engagement and compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements. The Assistant Dean serves as a key liaison between faculty students administrative departments and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Affairs

  • Assist the Dean in curriculum development academic planning and program evaluation for undergraduate and graduate finance and banking programs.
  • Ensure alignment with international standards (e.g. AACSB EFMD CFA Institute etc.) and regulatory frameworks (e.g. UAE Ministry of Education).
  • Support faculty recruitment onboarding evaluation and development.
  • Coordinate class schedules academic calendars and teaching assignments.
  • Monitor academic performance quality assurance and learning outcomes.
  • Promote the integration of technology data analytics AI and fintech into curriculum design.

Student Affairs

  • Lead student advising academic counseling and retention initiatives.
  • Support student organizations leadership development programs competitions (e.g. CFA Research Challenge) and case-study-based learning.
  • Oversee student orientation academic progression internships and career services in coordination with career development offices.
  • Address student grievances academic appeals and disciplinary matters fairly and transparently.

Strategic and Operational

  • Contribute to strategic planning and execution of initiatives for academic excellence and student satisfaction.
  • Participate in budget planning related to academic and student affairs.
  • Represent the College in internal and external academic committees accreditation reviews and institutional events.
  • Foster partnerships with financial institutions regulators and industry experts for student placements guest lectures and research collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Finance Banking Economics Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of academic experience with at least 3 years in an academic leadership or administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of finance and banking education trends and accreditation standards.
  • Experience in student development academic advising and quality assurance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work in a multicultural academic environment.
