Job Summary
- Perform welding on metal components and structures using various techniques including MIG TIG and Stick welding according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Inspect welds for quality strength and accuracy. Ensure that welds meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning cutting and fitting components as needed.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment including welding machines torches and protective gear.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that all welds are completed to a high standard and are free from defects. Perform routine checks and tests on welds as required.
- Work with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and address any welding-related issues.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or diploma in welding or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a welder in the oil and gas industry. Experience with large-scale projects is an advantage.
Additional Information :
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g. MIG TIG Stick).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Good understanding of welding safety practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Relevant welding certifications and qualifications are preferred (e.g. AWS ASME).
